I fist bump your Aunt Kristy every day! We use it to communicated a number of things; we are hip despite our progressing age, we are on the same team, we have just succeeded, we are proud of the other for something they have recently accomplished, we are victorious over adversity, and can't wait to get in the sack tonight...oh, too much knowledge! Seeing the Obama's fist bumping in public almost, almost gets me to consider voting for him...almost. As for President Bush, I've always liked the guy. He will, one day, be appreciated as one of the greatest presidents in the 21st century...oh, too hard for you to believe. I know. If I had been chest bumped by a sitting President at my graduation I would never, ever forget it. However, your comment is not about the body language it is about the trivolity of the story. I agree. It is trivial. But, you seem pretty unfair to me. You juxaposed a trival segment with one of the world's most serious issues, peace or lack there of in the Middle East. YOU CAN'T DO THAT AND BE INTELLECTUALLY HONEST. Your suggesting that ALL western media is trivial in nature compared with Al-Jazeera coverage. That is simply not true and you are aware of this. It reminds me of a ultra conservative, evangelical Christ follower I knew who had no time for people who had a passion to save whales and those who supported making our society more physically accessible to the handicapped. He constantly would tell me that it is more important to be concerned about the eternal lives of people, so waisting human effort on whales was nearly sinful. Also, accessibility money would bankrupt business, cost jobs, increase taxes, and make America less competitive in the world market place. Accessibility expenses could be the beginning of the end of "The Great American Experiment" in self government. The problem with my friend's attitude was that he saw everything from a zero sum game ending. I, on the other hand, felt mankind and God infinitely capable of multi-tasking. So, there is room for the trivial despite desperate challenges in the world. In fact, it can be argued, that to be continuously serious and not be able to "blow off" some steam in a humorous way can lead to serious mental health issues. So, save some whales, smooth out curbs and create lower urinal, work for peace in the Middle East, and laugh at candidates and think on some things that are not so important. We can do it all. Also, Andrew, remain "Fair and Balanced." Ha, ha.
