  • "The US Agency for International Development is to close its offices in Moscow after Russia demanded that Washington put a halt to the organisation’s activities there, the US state department has said. The move, announced on Tuesday, is a further blow to relations between the US and Russia, which had been improving until Vladimir Putin’s return as president."

  • "The first phase of Dubai's $3.3bn solar park will be in operation by the end of 2013, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) said on Tuesday. Speaking at the MENA Renewable Energy Forum, he said the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park will have a 1,000MW capacity by 2030, and, upon completion, will be one of the biggest solar parks in the region."
