"Emirates Aluminium, known as Emal, took another step towards becoming the world’s biggest single site aluminium smelter yesterday as its third production line made its first hot metal. Completed three months ahead of schedule, the line is part of Emal’s Phase II expansion project, which will boost production to 1.3 million tonnes of aluminium per year from 800,000 tonnes per year at present. The plant will reach full capacity next May."

"The Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi, also known as Kizad, on Sunday announced the signing of a new agreement with Brasil Foods, South America's largest food processing company. The agreement with Federal Foods Company, the local arm of Brasil Foods, will see a AED533m ($145.1m) investment in a land plot of 1,743,00 sq ft in the free zone area's food manufacturing cluster of Kizad Area A."
