BBC News - Argentina finds 1,500 secret military junta files
"Some 1,500 secret files, dating back to the years of military rule in Argentina, have been discovered in Buenos Aires. They were found in an abandoned wing of the Air Force headquarters. The files contain the transcripts of all meetings held by the military junta, which ruled the country from 1976 to 1983, said Defence Minister Agustin Rossi. The documents also name famous artists and intellectuals who were blacklisted."

BBC News - Voters head to polls in Virginia, New Jersey and New York
"Voters in the US are heading to the polls in the first major round of elections since President Barack Obama won a second term one year ago. In New Jersey and Virginia, voters will elect governors. New York City will choose a successor to three-term Mayor Michael Bloomberg, a Republican-turned-independent. Tuesday's races are seen as an early test of the Republican and Democratic Parties' strengths ahead of next year's critical congressional elections."

BBC News - North Korea reveals warship sinking
"North Korea has revealed that one of its warships sank last month, killing a number of sailors, in a rare admission of military failure. State media reported a visit by leader Kim Jong-un to a naval cemetery for the crew of "submarine chaser No 233". Photographs showed Mr Kim surrounded by more than a dozen gravestones inscribed with the date 13 October."

BBC News - DR Congo claims defeat of M23 rebels
"The government of the Democratic Republic of Congo has claimed victory over M23 rebels in the east of the country. A government spokesman said the last remaining rebels had either fled across the border or surrendered and their weapons had been destroyed overnight."
